Then how I connect to 2nd monitor (my current 24" 1080p) that only has DVI connector, thru daisy chain (work with different cables?) or a DVI-to-Thunderbolt cable into the 2nd TB port on the MacBook Pro? I intent to leave the MacBook Pro cover closed so it only connect to external two monitors in home office. The min-Displayport jack can insert into the Thunderbolt port.Īdd an appropriate USB 3.0 cable if you want to use the built-in USB 3.0 hub on the U2713.

#DELL MONITOR TO MACBOOK PRO CABLE FULL SIZE#
Yes U2713H has both full size DisplayPort and min-Displayport connectors. (It sounds like the port on the U2713 uses the full-size connector they don't say it's a 'Mini' one.) You need active Thunderbolt cables for hooking up Thunderbolt peripherals, but not, I believe, for plugging in a (Mini)DisplayPort monitor. Just a standard MiniDisplayPort-to-DisplayPort cable. I need an advice what's the right cable to connect MacBook Pro to the Dell monitor to fully leverage its resolution and color space without degradation, a Displayport to Thunderbolt cable? I bought MacBook Pro 13" with retina display recently, and just ordered Dell U2713H monitor from B&H that will get tomorrow.
